Facility Information Page
The Facility Information page on the NAN portal enables facility managers, staff, and directors to manage and publish details about their NMR facility and instruments. This page acts as a content management interface, and all designated staff members have permission to edit facility-related content across the Facility Dashboard.
Overview
The Facility Information page is used to populate the facility and instrument sections of the NAN portal. It allows staff to input descriptive and operational information to help users discover relevant facilities and understand the services offered.
General Facility Information
Facility staff can enter:
- Long Name and Short Name of the facility
- A URL linking to the facility's main website
- A Facility Description providing an overview of the center
- A view of the Generic Facility Account, which can be used to assign datasets that do not belong to a PI's lab
Facility Services
Facilities can specify the services they provide. These appear in the Resource Connector and are searchable as the portal grows. Each service includes a free-text description field.

Additional Facility Web Pages
Facilities can link to additional web pages and categorize their purpose. These links appear in the facility profile on the NAN portal.

Facility Addresses
Facilities may provide addresses for:
- Mailing Address
- Shipping Address
- Physical Location
Staff Management
Facility staff can be added along with their roles and responsibilities.
Available roles:
- Administrator
- Director
- Engineer
- Facility Manager
- Researcher
- Technician
- Approver
Staff responsibilities:
- Administrative Services
- Equipment Maintenance
- Experiment Support
- Sample Shipping and Handling
- Scheduling
Contacts
Contacts are chosen from the list of staff members. They are used to highlight primary points of contact for the facility.
Controls and Status
- A Save button stores all changes.
- A Discard Changes button reverts to the previous state.
- A Ready for Public View toggle allows staff to prepare and review content privately before making the facility visible on the public-facing NAN portal.
Initial Setup
When a new facility joins NAN, one individual is designated as a facility staff member. This person is responsible for populating the Facility Information page and inviting additional staff members to participate.
